The Eagle IV Protected Command and Control Vehicle protects its four-man crew from a variety of threats such as booby traps, mines and direct fire.
Since 2008, the Bundeswehr has procured 495 Eagle IV vehicles.
They offer space and protection for four persons and are equipped with a roll stabiliser, air conditioning and permanent four-wheel drive.
The Eagle IV's equipment includes an NBC protection system, a tyre pressure control system and a platform body, as well as an electrically driven winch on some variants.
A 6-cylinder diesel engine with a capacity of 5.9 litres and 250 hp allows the vehicle to master gradients of 60% and reach a top speed of 100 km/h.
Some variants of the Eagle IV are equipped with a remote controlled Light Weapon Station 100 (FLWFernbedienbare Leichte Waffenstation 100), which can be equipped with an MG3 or MG5 machine gun.
