The BA-64 was a fast, light armoured reconnaissance vehicle that was used by the Soviet troops from 1942. It was lightly armoured, had a speed of up to 80 km/h and was armed with a 7.62 mm machine gun in a small rotating turret. The Wehrmacht captured some vehicles and continued to use them under the designation BA-64B(r). After World War II, it was also used by the National People's Army of the GDR (NVA) and in the Korean War.
