Κατά την έναρξη του πολέμου, στις 28 Οκτωβρίου 1940, η ΕΒΑ διέθετε 9 Avro Anson MkI. Είχαν παραλλαγή Dark Green/Dark Earth και κάτω επιφάνειες σε Night Black. Έφεραν τα λευκά διακριτικά Π51 έως Π 62 στην άτρακτο και τις κάτω επιφάνειες των πτερύγων. Κατά τη διάρκεια των εχθροπραξιών τα διακριτικά τους αλλαχθήκαν σε N51 έως N62. Μετά την Μάχη της Κρήτης 5 Anson (N51, 52, 55 56 και 61) διέφυγαν στην Αίγυπτο όπου συνέχισαν να πετούνε με ελληνικά πληρώματα και βρετανικούς αριθμούς σειράς.
